Elena Osuna Elena Osuna began her study of Flamenco six years ago with Eva Encinias-Sandoval at the University of New Mexico. Shortly afterwards she became a member of Alma Flamenca, a pre-professional company directed by Eva Encinias-Sandoval. She performed on many occasions with Alma Flamenca, including the Festival of the States in 2000 in Washington, D.C. After her experience with Alma Flamenca, she studied in Spain. Elena spent three months studying in Granada and then nine months in Sevilla studying with the Farrucos and Juana Amaya. On her return to the United States, she performed in the show, Roots of Hip-Hop in New York as well as for the opening of Chich Marin's art show in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Elena is currently attaining a double major in dance and Spanish at the University of New Mexico. She is also currently an apprentice dancer with Yjastros, a National Flamenco Repertory directed by Joaquin Encinias.
